Paymentshield home insurance and mortgage payment protection insurance is only available through a financial intermediary that is registered with Paymentshield.

Home insurance from Paymentshield can provide buildings and contents combined, buildings insurance only, or contents insurance only.

Paymentshield home insurance is available to existing mortgage borrowers or new mortgage applicants, and covers up to £300,000 for buildings and up to £40,000 for contents insurance. You can increase these limits, however, up to £500,000 for buildings if you choose to take out "Buildings Extra" and £60,000 for contents cover if you choose to take out "Contents Extra"

Founded back in 1992 as an independent insurance company, Paymentshield grew fast and was taken over by Towergate in 2006 and is now a sister company of the Towergate partnership.

Although Paymentshield do not sell their insurance products direct to the public, they are available through financial intermediaries and mortgage brokerages that are regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Mortgage Arrangers is directly authorised by the Financial Services Authority and acts as an introducer to Paymentshield for the purposes of referring customers for quotes for the range of Paymentshield home insurance products and mortgage payment protection insurance products.
